Are You Making Greener Choices?

We all make choices be it in business or life. Some are good, others not so much! We choose our friends, our homes, our jobs and  much more. Businesses have the right to choose with whom they conduct business with. We graciously thank all of you have chosen Bann as part of your mix. We know you have a lot of choices and that is why we constantly strive to separate ourselves by looking for ways to add value. We respect the need for our clients to be bottom line focused. However we also need to be cognizant that issues of Sustainability will continue to keep raising it’s head even in these troubled economic times. 

Earlier this month MacDonald’s recalled 12,000,000 “Shrek” drinking glasses. They were imported from an overseas low cost provider of promotional products and unfortunately were Cadmium (a known carcinogen) tainted.
This is a perfect example where low cost did not equate to high value. 

We have and will continue to partner with oversee promotional product suppliers as we believe choice is important. We just believe it is wise to educate clients because we don’t want to be left holding the bag when and or if their might be an issue. 

Even domestically we have suppliers in the print arena who are doing more with issues regarding “the chain of custody” for paper stocks. Others are working to make ink less toxic or have their manufacturing plants reduce emissions. 

The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership is spear-heading a lot of great initiatives but they do add cost to the products. We are not here to preach, only to inform. We have made the choice to offer these alternatives to our clients if and when they express the interest in so doing. For the time being the costs generally are going to be a little more expensive but over time this will even out. We are interested in your thoughts about this topic?
