Mike’s Lone PEEK Summit!!

Hopefully you will all get the opportunity to take some kind of a family summer vacation this year. A vacation is like a good power nap. It can really re-charge you and help you "dig-in" when you get back to work.

 
Personally I have been blessed for the last 20 years to be able to visit the Whitefish chain in the Brainerd lakes area. We stay in a rustic old cabin that was the very first cabin on the whole chain. The cabin itself is nothing special but the place and the memories certainly are. The picture above is of my son, then 4 years old. It's the swing that all my kids and I’m sure many others spent countless hours on. My mother-in-law has been going up there for all of her soon to be 80 young years. Every year I sit on the same bench high above the shoreline overlooking most the lake and listen to her stories about friends, family and the lake.

Personally I highly recommend this area. It has boating, fishing, biking, golf, tennis, hiking, geocaching, and even some quiet solitude! Our week is one of the highlights of the whole year with our many traditions. One of my favorites is the annual fireworks show I put on for the family. I hear tell one can get some really great fireworks across the border in Prescott, WI but I personally would know nothing about that as they are illegal here in MN!  ;-)
